Positions

Player Positions can be used to verify where a player was situated on the pitch during a match. This may vary by sport but can help visualise lineups.

In the future, it will also enable additional bonuses to the RoBall Rating of a player depending on the events that occurred and what the player did during the match.

Note

Positions are available on Website Manual Submissions for Football only at present but more sports and submission modes will be added in the future.

Setting Positions

To set a player’s position on a website manual submission, a dropdown menu can be toggled during the submission (per player) to set their position. Any 4 of the following (for Football) can be set:

• Goalkeeper
• Defender
• Midfielder
• Attacker

Positions are grouped together into the above 4 categories and it is advised to choose the best matching position.

Note

Positions cannot be changed once submitted. Players are also not required to have a position listed.

PitchView

PitchView allows users to visualise the pitch layout using the above provided positions. While still in development, it can help provide a simplifed match overview for users.

PitchView will arrive later in 2026.
